Seattle Women in Leadership (WIL), the National Association of Women MBAs Seattle Professional Chapter (NAWMBA Seattle), and the Seattle Business School Alliance (SBSA) jointly present “Women at the Top: Paths to Authentic Leadership.” This event will feature a panel of senior executive women sharing their insights on how they developed their own visions of leadership and leveraged their unique leadership styles for success.

Bios:
Stephanie Bariault – Vice President of Operations, Americas at HTC
Stephanie Bariault is the Vice President, Operations Americas at HTC where she oversees all North American operations including supply chain management, reverse logistics, customer care, quality, HR, IT and Administration. HTC is one of the fastest growing companies in the mobile phone industry and a recognized pioneer in smartphones. Prior to joining HTC, Stephanie held executive level positions with AT&T and Key Bank. Stephanie has extensive domestic and international operations experience leading large teams in wireless, internet and high tech. In her role as Vice President Business Operations for FarEasTone, an AT&T Wireless joint venture in Taiwan, she was instrumental in the development, launch and operations of a nationwide wireless network; the fastest growing in GSM history. This success was followed by the acquisition and development of 11 wireless networks in the Caribbean where as Vice President and General Manager she lead teams through the business development (license and partner acquisition), build out, launch, operations and eventual sale of the business. Stephanie has turned her honed management and operations experience towards assisting large multi-faceted organizations in assessing and improving business operations; including strategic planning, launch strategies, marketing, call center consolidation, and process improvement. Stephanie is a graduate of the University of Washington Executive MBA program and Washington State University where she earned her BA in Education and Communications.
Kim Spalding – Vice President of VIA Ready Brew at Starbucks Coffee Company
As Vice President of the global Starbucks VIA category, Kim Spalding leads the product development, market launch, and overall brand management for Starbucks VIA. Named “Top 10 Innovation” by Forbes Magazine in 2010 and the “Most Innovative New Product of the Year” in the U.K. by Allegra Strategies, Starbucks VIA is now available in more than 70,000 outlets. Starbucks VIA launched in 7 countries this year, including China, and delivered more than $200MM in consumer sales in its first 2 years. Kim joined Starbucks in August 2008 as director, Starbucks Card, and later as director, Espresso beverages. She was promoted to vice president, global category in 2011. Key accomplishments include the launch of the Starbucks Mobile Card, the introduction of Starbucks Card to Korea and the launch of Starbucks Card Rewards in the UK. Kim also developed the global standards for espresso beverage production and launched a number of core and holiday beverages to drive retail sales around the globe, including the Flat White and the Caramel Brulée Latte. Prior to joining Starbucks, Kim was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, serving retail and consumer packaged goods clients on a range of merchandising, marketing and strategic issues. Projects included developing new retail concepts, product and pricing strategies, merchandising diagnostics, and organization design. Kim also held positions as an executive at Washington Mutual, leading strategy for the retail banking division, and as a change management consultant at Accenture. Kim holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Austin College. From 2002 to 2011, Kim and her husband Rob started and managed Seia Wine Cellars, known for their award winning Washington Syrah. Kim resides in the Seattle area with her husband and their two children.
Heidi Tucker – Vice President of Alliances and Business Development at InsideView
At InsideView, the leading Sales 2.0 sales intelligence and social media company, Heidi Tucker is responsible for driving the company’s distribution and OEM relationships with CRM brands, sales automation, and social media solution providers. She also overseas InsideView channel sales and strategic alliances. Heidi’s career spans more than 20 years leading marketing, sales, and business development. Prior to joining InsideView, Heidi was Vice President of Business Development at Hoover’s (a D&B Company), where she led Hoover’s API content licensing, mobile product distribution, and built the company’s first channel sales organization to expand distribution through major CRM brand owners and their partner eco-systems. Prior to Hoover’s, Heidi was SVP of Enterprise Sales at First Research, leading the company's North America expansion. She was also VP of Marketing for Courtlink Corporation, (Lexis-Nexis), and SVP of Business Marketing at Bank of America. Heidi received her MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. She is passionate about women’s leadership issues and the arts. She is president of the board of International Ballet Theatre and a member of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Western Washington. She was a member of two international diplomatic trade delegations: Baltics (2005) and China (2008) and a cultural exchange to Russia (2009). She lives in the Seattle area with her husband and two teenage children.
Susan Canfield – Senior Associate Director MBA Career Services & Director, MBA Mentor Program at UW’s Foster School of Business
Susan Canfield has been with the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington for over 10 years, where she serves as Director of the MBA Mentor Program and Senior Associate Director of MBA Career Services. Susan’s award-winning book, Mentoring Moments: Inspiring Stories from Eight Business Leaders and MBAs, captures through personal interviews the powerful mentoring stories of Seattle business luminaries – who currently serve or have served as Foster MBA mentors – and their MBA mentees. Since the book’s publication, Susan has been asked to speak on mentoring and leadership at professional organizations, companies, universities and was interviewed on KPLU, the local NPR affiliate. Previously, Susan held director level positions in healthcare and business education. Her entrepreneurial interests led to founding a consulting practice specializing in marketing and work-life issues that served leading Northwest employers including Russell, US Bank, Nordstrom, Hewlett Packard, Boeing, Port of Seattle, the Gates Foundation, and others. Susan also wrote an award-winning business column for the Seattle Times for 6 years. She earned a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from the University of Puget Sound, and has lived and worked all over the US and in Athens, Greece.

Driving from the south via I-5 northbound:
